Toast

When I was young I used to boast,

That it was toast I liked the most.

I liked it best when served with tea.

Piled high like soldiers just for me.

 

It’s better than mum’s roasted lamb,

Or even nanna’s pickled ham.

And for dessert, it’s hard to beat,

Sticky honey with toast to eat.
